ITINERARY
Joshimath is a hill station located at an altitude of 6,000 ft in the Chamoli district of Garhwal Division in Uttaranchal. It lies in the mountain slopes above the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. It is a mesmerizing place with lovely and eye catching views of the snow mountains, greenery and pleasant weather conditions. It is one of the four great 'maths' established by the Adi Guru Shri Shankaracharya in the 8th century AD. There are several ancient temples for the tourists to pay visit. The town is the winter abode of Lord Badri, who is brought down from Badrinath to the Vasudeva Temple at Joshimath somewhere around the festival of Deepawali. It is one of the few places in India offering winter sports like Ice Skiing. The Nanda Devi National Park is 23 km away from the town of Joshimath. One can trek to the park, which abounds in rare flora and fauna. The tourists can go to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Chopta, Valley of Flowers and Hem Kund sahib Gurudwara on excursion from Joshimath.
A word ‘Jyotirmath' the place of Jyotirlinga of Shiva known as Jyotirmath. It is considered to be one of the most sacred places by Hindus who believes that Badrinath (The God Vishnu) resides here in winter. Joshimath has a temple dedicated to Narshimsha, an incarnation of Vishnu, an arm of the idol of this deity (which is install in the temple) is said to be thinning daily and it is believed that when it breaks off the road to Badrinath will be close by a land slip. To the south of the big square in front of the temple there is a roofed building housing a stone cistern with two brass spouts known as Danddhara and Narshimha Dhara between which there are brass idols of Rama and Sita. There are several temples here, each dedicated to Haniman, Ganesha, Surya, Gaurishankar and Naudevi respectively. These temples surround that of Vashudeva the black stone idol install in it, which is two meters high and stand on a lotus pedestal, being of fine craftsmanship and being flanked by standing figures of Sridevi and Bhudevi. In the temple are also the idols of the ten avtars of Vishnu. At a short distance in front of the temple there is a brass idol of Garud,Vishu's vehicle.

Auli Located at an altitude of 2500 - 3050 mts above sea level, offering a panoramic view of Mt. Nanda DeviKamet, Mana Parwat, Dunagiri, Beethartoli, Nilkanth, Hathi Parbat, Ghori Parbat and Nar Parbat,is an ideal place for Skiing, covered with evergreen conifers and oak forest. The potential of snow dressed slopes of Auli, once the training grounds for the Paramilitary forces was adjudged by the French and Austrian experts who compared it with the best skiing grounds of the world, and rated it as one of the best. In summers Hikers/ Trekkers will find numerous marked walks and there are also mountain bike trails. at the backdrope of the resort lies the famous high altitude Gorson Reserve forest richly habituated by rare Himalayan wildlife including snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Cat,Wild Rabbit, Jackal, Fox, Hyena and Beer. There are various scenic locations around .

Chila wildlife sanctuary, a haven for animal watchers is just 9 kms from Hariewar and 21 kms from Rishikesh, is part of the Rajaji National Park. The fauna species include elephants, spotted dear, blue bull, wild boar, fox, porcupine, jungle fowls and peacocks. Besides these the migratory birds are also seen on the river Ganga.


Day 01: Delhi

Receiving of guests from NEW DELHI railway station- check in hotel-Sight seeing trip of Delhi visiting Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, the Red Fort and the great Jama Masjid - the biggest mosque in India. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 02: Delhi - Mussoorie

Tented Camp-MUSSOORIE Drive to Queen of Hills - MUSSORRIE- MT. EVEREST Tented Camp- the place provides an enchanting view of Doon Valley on one side and view of Yamuna Valley & snow bound Himalayan ranges on the other.An ideal place for picnic .

 

Day 03: Drive to Joshimath

After an early breakfast, drive to Joshimath (270 km) on a mountainous road along the Ganga river and later by the Alaknanda. Take the 3.9 kms cable car (the longest in Asia) to the scenic and picturesque Auli Ski resort.Overnight at Auli Tourist Bungalow (3049 m).

Day 04: Auli

Skiing at Auli on a full board basis. All skiing equipment will be provided. There is one poma lift
and one chair car at the Auli ski resort. Instruction is provided by qualified instructors. The ski slopes command a panoramic view of high Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi ( 7818 m).

Day 05: Chila

Drive to CHILA is distinct for its pristine scenic beauty and rich bio- diversity. A paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, the wildlife of the park is blessed with elephants, tigers, leopards, deer and ghorals as its best known life forms.

Day 06: Delhi

Drive back to Delhi arriving by lunch time. Evening depart for onward destination.
