Information for India Visa Extension in India

Visitor contact in person at FRRO office for visa extension (except tourist visa)

Documents required for extension:

Photocopy of passport and visa
Relevant pages of Residence permits having last extension
If student –Letter from College or Institute stating student full details related to study and reason of visa extension and Identity card for student visa.
If Employed- Company letter and terms & conditions for business / employment visa.
If Marriage to Indian - Marriage Certificate in case seeking extension
For research visa - approval of research project from the nodal ministry

Extension Fee:

Fee is US $ 30 (up to 180 days)
Fee is US $ 50( beyond 180 days)

If Foreigners holding a visa for more than 180 days must get registration within 14 days of their arrival in India . At FRRO office Delhi / Mumbai / Kolkata or Chennai
Accredited journalists -are given the ‘Intended Departure Clearance' at the Airport
Multiple visa holders -if holding a long-term multiple entry visa do not require ‘Intended Departure Clearance' from the city office when leaving the country
If Pakistan national - Pakistan nationals are required to register themselves within 24 hours of their arrival with the nearest police station.
